Students in my Digital Media program explore conventional and experimental techniques in a photography practices. Throughout several lessons and dedicated units, students will explore studio and street style photography techniques. Each student is tested and required to shoot in manual mode with DSLRs for full range and control of their images.

Throughout my curricula I focus on the similarities between art and graphic design. This reinforces the common foundation of technique, materials, and craft. My curriculum will give high school students exposure to design thinking and the design process as a way of introducing them to visual communication.

Time Based Arts - Video - Radio - Animation
Time based arts education is extremely critical for teens mental development. With the increase of social media and video sharing apps, it is vital for my digital media students to develop and deconstruct the anatomy of time based arts (video, radio, and animation). Learning the practical use of how media is used into to target messages can effectively protect them from harmful and detrimental social effects.
